Justin Williams Named PFL Special Teams Player of the Week

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson running back Justin Williams has been named the Pioneer Football League's Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the Wildcats' game against San Diego last Saturday. He is the third Davidson player to earn a PFL weekly honor this season.
Williams returned the opening kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown against the Toreros. It was the first Davidson kick return for touchdown since John Leverett returned one 96 yards for a score against Emory & Henry in 2002. It was also two yards shy of the school record, which was last accomplished by Leverett in 2001 against Randolph-Macon.
The sophomore finished the contest with 136 kick return yards on three attempts for a 45.3 average and added 17 rushing yards for 153 all-purpose markers. Williams ranks fourth in the PFL and 37th in the FCS in all-purpose yards, averaging 126 a contest for a total of 1,134.
Davidson is back in action in their final non-conference contest of the season as the Wildcats host Marist Saturday at noon at Richardson Stadium.
