FitzGerald, Potter Named to ADA Academic All-Star Team

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Defensive back Patrick FitzGerald and wide receiver Myles Potter have been named to the FCS (formerly I-AA) Athletic Director's Association Academic All-Star Team.
FitzGerald, who owns a 3.42 grade point average in history, is a repeat selection to the team after earning the honor in 2006. The senior had 56 tackles, including 1.5 for loss, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries and nine pass break-ups. His 11 career interceptions ranked third among active players in the Pioneer Football League this season, and he started 31 career games, including the last 30.
Potter, who has a 3.58 grade point average in chemistry, played in all 10 games this season and had 28 receptions for 394 yards and two touchdowns. The junior's 67-yard touchdown reception against Morehead State Oct. 6, was the longest for Davidson since 2005. He logged three tackles on special teams, forcing a fumble and recovering another.
Davidson finished the 2007 campaign with a 6-4 overall record for the second consecutive season. The 'Cats posted a 4-3 Pioneer Football League mark.
