COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –– Davidson was not able to overcome single goals in the first and second periods by Colorado College as the Wildcats dropped a 2-0 decision to the Tigers on Sunday afternoon at Stewart Field. Davidson saw its record fall to 1-3-0 after finishing its first-ever trip to the state of Colorado 0-2. Colorado College earned the first win of series between the two schools and ran its overall mark to 2-1-1.

The game-winning goal for the Tigers came at the 36:57 mark in the first half off the foot of 2006 Conference USA Freshman of the Year Emily Beans. She snapped a scoreless tie late in the first half when she got the ball in the left midfield area, faked a pass to the outside, then cut to the middle and split the Davidson defense before racing in alone on senior goalie Bevin English (Charleston, S.C.). It was Beans' second goal of the season.

The Tigers tallied an insurance goal in the 76th minute when Beans was fouled in the box, setting up a penalty kick. Tiffany Brown converted on the ensuing penalty kick to finish off the scoring and the Wildcats fell 2-0.

After getting only two shots on Friday night at Air Force, Davidson was held to only five shots, one on goal, against the Tigers as the Wildcats were held scoreless for the second straight game. C.C. held a 17-5 advantage in shots and registered four corner kicks to Davidson's three.

English registered a game-high six saves in her 90 minutes of action, to push her season total to 29.

The Wildcats will take a seven-day break before they return home for a matchup against Mercer at Alumni Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 16 at 2 p.m.
