
Craig Swieton Hired as New Strength and Conditioning Coach at Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Davidson College athletic director Jim Murphy has announced the hiring of Craig Swieton as its new head strength and conditioning coach for the Wildcat athletic program.
"Craig's experience has provided him with a breadth of strength training knowledge that will serve our 21 athletic programs very well," said Murphy.
Prior to his arrival, Swieton had served most recently as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Central Michigan, where he was a graduate assistant as well from 2003-05. During his career, he also helped coordinate the strength and conditioning program at Duquesne.
Swieton started his career as an intern at Syracuse in the summer of 2003 working with the football team.
The Frankfort, N.Y. native earned a bachelor's degree in applied exercise science from Springfield College in Springfield, Mass. in 2003. He was a member of both the football and track and field teams.
Swieton is a member of both the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA). Additionally, he is a level one certified club coach through USA Weightlighting.
Swieton is currently pursuing a master's degree in sport administration.
