DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson College Athletic Department announced its award winners for the 2006-07 season Monday evening at its annual all-sports banquet. Football's Kyle Kinsell received The Tommy Peters Award honoring the college's top male athlete, while Tia Washington of the women's basketball team was selected the top female athlete with the Rebecca A. Stimson Award.
In recognition of their outstanding dedication and contribution to intercollegiate athletics, senior track and cross country runner Douglas Noreen was presented with the Thomas A. Sparrow Award, while senior swimmer Ellie Trefzger received the Susan K. Roberts Award. Stephen Curry, the Southern Conference men's basketball Freshman of the Year, was recognized with the Helen DeVane Carnegie Award, presented to Davidson's most outstanding freshman athlete.
