Field Hockey Places 10 on 2006 NFHCA Academic Squad

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Ten Wildcat field hockey players were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's 2006 National Academic Squad.
Kelly Brennan, Lauren Calve, Britti Himelfarb, Tyler Kirkland, Rachl Kiselewich, Liz Luckey, Liz Meltzer, Molly Palilonis, Catherine Ransone and Jen Willis represent the Wildcats on the national honor squad.
The National Academic Squad program recognizes those collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 through the first semester of the 2006-07 academic year.
It was the third consecutive selection for junior Ransone, who has now made the team in each of her three seasons. Ransone appeared in all 21 games in 2006 and started 18. The team's second-leading scorer, she notched career highs in goals (8), assists (6) and points (22).
Sophomores Calve and Kirkland were named to the team for a second straight year, earning the honor in each of their two seasons at Davidson thus far.
