CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The 4x100 team set a new Davidson record, and freshman Kristen Meister and sophomore Lucy Rogers each won individual titles as the Wildcat women's track and field team competed at the Charlotte Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
With a time of 48.97, the 4x100 team bettered their own record of 50.07, set last weekend at the Wake Forest Open by Jessica Chasen, Chieko Phillips, Kim Colley and Amaka Obidegwu.
Freshman Kristen Meister took the title in the high jump with a mark of 1.70 meters, while sophomore Lucy Rogers crossed the finish line first in the 5,000-meters with a time of 17:43.90.
The women tracksters nearly felled a couple more records. Colley matched her own record with an 18th-place finish in the 100-meters with a time of 12.63, and Phillips ran a 25.62 in the 200-meters, narrowly missing the Davidson standard of 25.60 set by Katurri Phillips last season.
The Wildcat women will return to action at the Duke Invitational from April 6-7.
