Altman Named SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Sophomore Ben Altman has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week, the league announced today.
Altman, who carries a 3.71 grade point average, has placed in all three tournaments he has competed in at the 125-pound weight class thus far this season. The sophomore was third at the Davidson Open last Saturday after going 5-1 with a pin and three major decisions. He placed fourth at both the UNC Pembroke Open and the Navy Classic in November.
Altman, the 2007 SoCon Freshman of the Year, owns a 13-5 record thus far this season. Davidson returns to action at the Southern Scuffle in Greensboro, N.C., Dec. 29 and 30.
