Davidson, N.C. - The Pioneer Football League has named Davidson's Ryan Alexander Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Wildcats' game at San Diego last Saturday. It's the third time in his career that Alexander has earned the honor, and the senior is the fifth Wildcat to earn a Player of the Week award from the PFL this season.
Alexander set a school record by throwing six touchdown passes in Davidson's 52-49 loss at San Diego and matched a career-high with 404 passing yards. He completed 35-of-54 passes without an interception.
Alexander shares the accolade with San Diego quarterback Josh Johnson, who completed 32-of-36 passes for 428 yards and six TDs while running for 79 yards. Together, the duo accounted for 913 yards of total offense and tossed 12 touchdown passes with no interceptions.
Alexander has already broken school records for career passing yards and total offense this season. He also owns the single-game record for completion percentage and the school mark for consecutive passes without an interception.
Alexander joins Matt Easton, Bud Crawford, Cody Elder and Peter Bakke as winners of a PFL Player of the Week award this season. The Wildcats close the campaign by hosting Valparaiso Saturday, Nov. 10, at noon at Richardson Stadium. Davidson will honor 18 seniors prior to the contest on Senior Day.
