Today's Game
• Davidson plays its second straight road game as the Wildcats travel to San Diego.
• Davidson is coming off a 44-32 victory at Butler last Saturday.
• The 'Cats are 10-4 in their last 14 contests, dating back to last season, including 6-4 on the road and 4-2 in road league games.
• The 'Cats are 8-4 in their last 12 PFL games, dating back to last season.
• Today's tilt caps a two-game road swing for Davidson. The 'Cats will have logged 3,006 miles during the stretch.
• The Davidson football program is one win shy of the 400 plateau.
• San Diego was ranked 24th in the FCS Coaches Poll and 26th in the Sports Network FCS Poll last week but fell 35-16 at Dayton. That loss snapped a 19-game win streak against PFL opponents.
• The Toreros are No. 2 in the Sports Network Mid-Major Poll.
• The Toreros have won 34 of their last 37 games overall, 19 of 20 PFL games and 23 contests in a row at home.
Series Record
• Davidson trails the all-time series, which began in 2000, 3-1, and has lost the last three.
• The three setbacks have been by an average margin of 44 points, and the Toreros are averaging 53.3 points a game.
• The Wildcats are 1-1 in Torero Stadium with the victory coming in the first meeting between the two schools Oct. 14, 2000. The Wildcats won that contest 27-13.
• San Diego rolled up 648 yards in last season's 50-21 victory at Richardson Stadium.
• Quarterback Josh Johnson threw for 310 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 127 yards and one score.
• J.T. Rogan had 151 yards and two TDs on 23 carries.
• Davidson quarterback Ryan Alexander had 164 passing yards and two touchdowns to go along with 25 rushing yards.

• After Davidson tied the game 7-7 on a Jonathan Hubbard 1-yard TD run with 10:18 to play in the first quarter, San Diego scored the next 23 points to take a 30-7 lead.
• Ryan Hubbard caught a TD pass, and the 'Cats added the two-point conversion to make the cushion 30-15 at halftime, but the Toreros pulled away with a touchdown midway through the third quarter and another early in the fourth.
Scouting the Toreros
• San Diego is dominant offensively, averaging 479.2 yards a game. The Toreros have punted just 19 times in eight contests.
• The Toreros have a +11 turnover ratio. They have 11 receptions for 258 return yards and three TDs. Patrick O'Neill took one back 93 yards, and Ben Hannula had a 99-yard return.
• San Diego gives up 375.4 yards a game, including 166 on the ground.
• Reigning PFL Player of the Year Josh Johnson has thrown for 2,082 yards with 30 touchdowns and one interception.
• He's also run for 512 yards and two scores.
• Two receivers have over 600 yards and have combined for 20 TDs. Wes Doyle has 57 catches for 699 yards, and John Matthews has 25 receptions for 652 yards.
• The Toreros have combined for 52 tackles for loss and 26 sacks. PFL Defensive Player of the Year candidate Eric Bakhtiari has 15.5 sacks and 19 tackles for loss.

• Davidson has 399 victories in its football history, which began in 1897.
• With five wins, Davidson is guaranteed of finishing with a .500 or better record for the second straight year. It's the first time that's happened since Davidson was .500 or better for five consecutive years, from 1998-2002.
• Justin Williams became the third different Davidson player to rush for over 100 yards in a game this season when the freshman logged 225 at Butler Oct. 27. Junior Chad Barnes had 170 vs. UNC Pembroke Sept. 2 while freshman Kenny Mantuo had 135 at Jacksonville Sept. 29.
• Davidson is back in the polls after their win over Drake Oct. 20. The 'Cats are eighth in the Sports Network Poll and Don Hansen's Football Gazette and sixth on CSR.com.
• Drake was ranked sixth in the Sports Network Mid-Major Poll. It was the Wildcats' first win over a ranked team since a 38-3 home win over Jacksonville Oct. 7, 2006.
• The Wildcats are 14-11 with Ryan Alexander as their starting quarterback.
• Alexander has become Davidson's all-time leader in passing and total offense.
• Ryan Alexander and Ryan Hubbard have hooked up for big yardage the last two weeks. Alexander has hit Hubbard with 31 passes for 416 yards.
• The Wildcats are fifth in the country in sacks allowed. They have given up six in eight games.
• Ten players have scored touchdowns for Davidson, and no Wildcat has more than seven.
• Davidson has come from behind for victories in two games this season.
• Davidson blocked two kicks against UNC Pembroke.
• Matt Easton's interception return for touchdown at Wingate was the first for Davidson since 2005.
• Senior Jeffrey Scott blocked a punt at Jacksonville, the first for the Wildcats since 2001. Freshman Ben Sarver blocked a punt against Drake.
• The Wildcats have allowed an individual 100-yard rusher in four of eight games this season, but not in the last four.
• The Wildcats have scored after receiving the opening kick of the second half four of five times this season.
• Davidson is 13-1 when leading after the third quarter under head coach Tripp Merritt.
• The 'Cats allowed minus 40 yards rushing against Drake Oct. 20.
• Myles Potter's 67-yard TD reception against Morehead State Oct. 6 was the longest for Davidson since 2005.
• Davidson has met an opponent nicknamed the Bulldogs three times this season (Wingate, Drake and Butler). The Wildcats are 2-1 against the Bulldogs.
• The Wildcats gave up a defensive PAT against Butler Oct. 27. It was the first in Butler history.
PFL Co-Defensive Player of the Week
• The Pioneer Football League has named Davidson's Peter Bakke Co-Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Wildcats' 44-32 victory at Butler last Saturday. • He is the third Davidson player to earn PFL Defensive Player of the Week honors this season, joining Matt Easton and Bud Crawford.
•Bakke recorded the FCS' second-highest solo tackle total this season with 14 and finished the contest against the Bulldogs with 20 total stops, the fifth highest in the FCS. The junior linebacker also registered a sack and broke up a pass.
