Peter Bakke Named Defensive Player of the Week

Davidson, N.C. - The Pioneer Football League has named Davidson's Peter Bakke Co-Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Wildcats' 44-32 victory at Butler last Saturday. He is the third Davidson player to earn PFL Defensive Player of the Week honors this season, joining Matt Easton and Bud Crawford.
Bakke recorded the FCS' second-highest solo tackle total this season with 14 and finished the contest against the Bulldogs with 20 total stops, the fifth highest in the FCS. The junior linebacker also registered a sack and broke up a pass.
Bakke leads the Wildcats and is tied for sixth in the PFL in tackles with 60. He has recoded 3.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, four pass break-ups and a forced fumble.
The Wildcats play at San Diego this Saturday in a 5 p.m. (EST) contest before returning home to take on Valparaiso in the season finale Saturday, Nov. 10, at noon.
