Davidson Wraps up Regular Season, Hosts Radford on Senior Day

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- The Davidson Wildcat field hockey team will host the Radford Highlanders in their final regular-season contest, tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at Belk Turf Field. The team's six seniors - Eleanor Cowley, Ginnie Friddell, Kayli Maxwell, Catherine Ransone, Misty Stallings and Jen Willis - will be honored in senior-day festivities prior to the game.
Scouting the Highlanders
Radford has an overall record of 5-12 and a conference mark of 2-3. The Highlanders have conference wins over Appalachian (3-0) and Pacific (1-0 OT), but dropped NorPac matches to Longwood (0-3), California (2-3 OT) and Davidson (0-2). Radford has one conference game remaining at Stanford.
The Highlanders are led by Megan Longtain and Alex Wladich on the offensive end. Longtain is the team's leading scorer with six goals and an assist, while Wladich has four goals and four assists.
Jennifer Wisniewski has started all but one game in goal for Radford, tallying 106 saves and allowing 52 goals in 1071:13 minutes with a 3.40 GAA. Defender Allison Mowry has four defensive saves.
Jeff Woods is in his 22nd season at Raford, the longest of any tenure at the school.
The Series
Radford holds a 20-7 lead in the all-time series, but Davidson prevailed in a 4-1 NorPac contest in Farmville on Sept. 8. Last year, the two teams split results, with Davidson earning a 1-0 double-overtime win on Oct. 15 in conference play, and the Highlanders getting a 4-1 win in the first round of the NorPac tournament on Nov. 2 in Davidson.
