SAVANNAH, Ga. -- After opening its second fall event with a pair of disappointing rounds, Davidson rebounded with a 293 team total in the final round of the Southbridge Intercollegiate to place 15th Tuesday afternoon. The 54-hole event was played on the 6,922-yard, par 72 Southbridge Golf Club layout.
Ryan Crum, who was competing as an individual and David Fowler led the Wildcats in the individual standings with 223 totals to place tied for 42nd.
One of five freshmen in the lineup, Bobby Urso recorded the club's lowest score of the event with a final round 71 to finish at 226 (80-75-71).
Other Davidson competitors included Robert Mayo (T69th / 234), Chris Rollins (T73rd / 236) and Adam Lewicki (T77/245).
Georgia Southern overcame a nine-stroke deficit to Winthrop to claim the team title, while the Eagles' Kelly Manders held on to his overnight lead to win individual medalists with a 54-hole total of 14-under (69-68-55=202).
Davidson will continue its fall slate at the Seascape Collegiate Oct. 29-30.Jo
