HANOVER, N.H. — Junior midfielder Britti Himelfarb scored her fourth goal of the season, but Dartmouth netted three unanswered goals to claim a 3-1 win over the Davidson Wildcat field hockey team on Saturday afternoon in Hanover, N.H.
With the loss, Davidson falls to 7-6 overall, while Dartmouth improves to 4-7.
Himelfarb's score put the 'Cats on the board in the 10th minute of play, but Dartmouth's Katy Hagy knotted the score on an unassisted goal in the 32nd minute.
Ashley Hines put the Big Green on top a minute later as she converted on a penalty corner, assisted by Steph Miller, to lift Dartmouth to a 2-1 lead at the half.
After the break, Allison Weinstock scored the final goal of the game in the 36th minute and Dartmouth held on for the 3-1 win.
The Big Green outshot the 'Cats a narrow 20-16 and earned a slight 7-6 edge on penalty corners.
Sophomore Christa Goeke recorded seven saves in 70 minutes in goal for the 'Cats, while the Big Green's Jordan Sedlacek also made seven saves.
The Wildcats will continue their fall-break trip, taking on Maine tomorrow afternoon at noon and New Hampshire at 1 p.m., Tuesday.
