DAVIDSON, N.C. — Freshman Tom Divinnie (Brentwood, Tenn.) earned Davidson's first men's indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week this year for Jan. 17 as announced by the Southern Conference today.
Divinnie, who was forced to miss all of the cross country season due to an injury, came out strong in his first official collegiate race for the Wildcats at the UNC Opener this past weekend. The freshman turned in a top-10 Wildcat performance in the 3000-meter with a second place finish time of 8:43.35. He had the highest finish for Davidson in any event at the meet. Divinnie's performance in the 3K is also the best in the Southern Conference this year and his time is now the seventh fastest in Davidson history.
Davidson now gears its self up for a trip back to Chapel Hill, N.C. on Jan. 26-27, for the UNC Fast Times.
