Martin Paces Wildcat Women at Aggie Challenge Track Meet

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Crossing the 3000-meter finish line first and earning runner-up status in the 1500 meters, Davidson senior Allie Martin paced the Wildcats at the Aggie Challenge, hosted by North Carolina A&T in Greensboro on Saturday.
A team co-captain, Martin won the 3000 meters with a time of 10:21.79, followed by freshman teammate Caroline Sanker at 10:24.15. Another Wildcat freshman took fourth in the event, also scoring points, with a 10:30.38 finish. Classmate Lucy Rogers came in ninth, just outside the point-earning top eight. Martin's time of 4:48.50 in the 1500 meters was good for second place
With another solid performance on the day, Colleen McKown posted a 2:19.96 to take third in the 800 meters. The sophomore was joined in the event by senior Hilary Leister, who clocked a time of 2:22.65 for eighth place.
Sprinter Kim Colley continued to turn in program top-10 times today with solid races in the open 100- and 200-meter events today.
The Wildcats are slated to compete at the Clemson relays next weekend, March 24-25.
