CLEMSON, S.C. — The Davidson women continued their indoor track season this weekend with a meet at Clemson, where sophomore Megal Atias captured first in the 3000 meters and classmate Katurri Phillips set a school record in the 200 meters for the second consecutive week.
Atias finished the 3000 in 10:16.83, barely shy of the 14-year-old school record set at 10:16.52 by Wildcat standout Kathy Beach. Following in eighth place was senior Allie Martin, whose mark of 10:30.37 is also a top-five Wildcat performance in the event.
Phillips, who replaced Davidson's 200-meter indoor record last week at North Carolina, did likewise on Saturday, crossing the finish line at 26.75, ousting the old mark of 26.89. This is the third consecutive 200 standard Phillips has set. Freshman Kimberley Colley also ran the 200, finishing in 27.55 — the exact same mark she posted last weekend at Carolina — which resides on the Wildcat top-5 performance list.
The Davidson tracksters rest up next weekend before lacing up their spikes for the Southern Conference Indoor Championships, Feb. 24-25, to be held at Clemson.
