Matthew Fung joined the Davidson Men's Tennis staff as an assistant coach in July of 2025.
Fung joins Davidson after coaching at Royal Palm Tennis Club in Miami, Fla., working with the high-performance academy. He also grew up and trained there as a junior. Being coached by his father, he won multiple national level events as a junior and practiced and trained with multiple professional tennis players such as Mikael Ymer, Venus Williams, Anna Kalinskaya, Monica Puig and Francesca Schiavone.
Fung played college tennis at the University of Louisville where he achieved ITA singles national ranking as high as No. 60 in and No. 24 in the ITA Doubles rankings. He was named team captain for the Cardinals in 2023 and 2024. He graduated from Louisville with a degree in business administration.
Fung is a native of Miami, Fla.
