Ike Byers is in his second year as an assistant coach on the Davidson wrestling staff.
Byers, a local product of Mooresville, N.C. boasted a credible five-season career as a member of the Appalachian State wrestling program.
Byers earned back-to-back Southern Conference Championships as a Mountaineer and most recently went 27-17 with a fourth place finish in the 141-pound division at the SoCon Championships.
His 27 wins marked the second-highest on the team, highlighted by a 6-1 mark in SoCon duals. Byers also picked up a dual victory to help Appalachian State defeat the then-No. 21 UNC Tarheels 24-14.
