Head Coach Ginny Turner announced the return of Sarah Fisher to the DCFH program in early August 2016.
Fisher played for Turner and the 'Cats from 2009-2012 and was the 2012 NorPac Defensive Player of the Year. She was selected to the All-NorPac team that same year, and the NorPac All-Tournament team in 2010. Perhaps the greatest accolade for former keeper was earning NFHCA All-Region honors during her senior season.
Fisher is the winningest goaltender in Wildcat history with 33 victories, and her 414 are the third most in program history. Fisher ranks in the Top Five All-Time of several defensive categories. Her 8.1 shutouts are second in school history, and she ranks third in career save percentage (.731), saves per game (6.00) and career goals against average (2.27), and fifth in total minutes played (4683).
Upon graduation from Davidson with a degree in Sociology, Fisher joined Teach For America where she taught exceptional education in Kansas City, Mo. She continued her education at the University of Missouri at St. Louis, receiving a Master's of Special Education.
Fisher has more than just personal playing ties to the 'Cats; her younger sister Becca spent four seasons as a member of the women's soccer team, where she was an NSCAA All-Southeast Region selection, and their baby sister Hannah serves as starting midfielder on the Davidson field hockey squad.
Fisher and her boyfriend, Jake Cohen, a fellow Davidson alum (2013) as a member of the men's basketball team, have recenty relocated to Davidson. Following the season, Fisher and Cohen will head to Ashdod, Israel.
