Kelly Lawler (née Baril) joins the Davidson field hockey coaching staff as a goalkeeping coach.
A three-time All-American goalkeeper during her playing career at Princeton, Lawler was an assistant coach at Duke from 2003 to 2008.
Lawler graduated from Princeton in 2003 with a degree in psychology. She helped lead the Tigers to a 50-20 record and three NCAA Tournament appearances in her four seasons. In addition to her All-America accolades, she was also a four-time All-Ivy selection. Lawler was a three-sport athlete, also playing basketball and softball.
A former member of the U.S. Under-23 team, Lawler competed in several international tournaments including the Junior World Cup in Argentina in 2000. The Peabody, Mass. native also played on the Senior National team.
Lawler is presently an assistant athletic director at Providence Day School. She also served as a regional coaching director at the United States Field Hockey Association from 2007-10 and a teacher and coach at Durham Academy from 2009-11.
