Katie Plyler joins the Davidson field hockey coaching staff for the spring of 2016.
Plyler comes to Davidson after a four year playing career at the University of North Carolina. During her career she played in 79 matches including three ACC Championship and three NCAA Championship Games. During her four years as a Tar Heel, the team made it to the National Championship each year, winning in 2009. Katie was also part of ACC Championship teams in 2011 and 2012. She was the recipient of the Dawson Family Most Improved Player Award for 2011-2012 and during her senior year she served as team captain and was named to the Academic All-ACC Team.
A native of Charlotte, NC, Plyler played for Charlotte Country Day School and traveled to festival with the Maryland based team, the PH Strikers. She has spent her last three years coaching the Carolina All Stars in Chapel Hill and this past fall coached the University of North Carolina Club Field Hockey Team to the National Championship."
