Support Staff Game Changer Award Nominees
Dani Gariglio, Athletics Communications
-"Dani stepped into her role and went full speed ahead despite the pandemic. She has helped us with our social media, presenting stories, and cheering us on even when she can’t be there with us. Her support and the improvements that have occurred in Athletics Communications have greatly benefited our team."
-"She is a rockstar and was one of the best in the country at promoting women's basketball this season."
Dillon Byrum, Sports Medicine
Drew Christie, Maintenance
Elizabeth Allred, Nutrition
"This year was so tough on so many kid's mental health - nutrition struggles and eating disorders were a huge challenge. I believe Elizabeth may have literally saved the life of an athlete this year, and that's not hyperbole."
Emily Hintz, Marketing
"In a year when everything has gone virtual, Emily and Justin have gone above and beyond to continue to not only promote Davidson Athletics, but help us promote DCWS. They took time every week to meet with our staff specifically to discuss ways they could help us increase engagement with recruits, expand our social media influence, and to create meaningful pieces to create motivation and excitement around women's soccer. They also took time to help make our Senior day and game day experience top notch by creating individual senior montage videos, goal songs, game day graphics, and weekly 'how well do you know the team' videos. These little details make the difference in our players' experience, excitement, and enjoyment during a time when so much has gone virtual. They have been tremendous in recruiting and promotion of the Davidson Women's Soccer program and have helped us move forward during this COVID year."
Justin Parker, Athletics Communications

Dr. Robert Lutz, Sports Medicine/COVID-19 Response Leader
"His commitment to excellence in protecting the student body, staff, and faculty at Davidson College. He worked tirelessly throughout this year to ensure that we could train and compete during our season. I can't tell you the number of calls and texts I made to him about team and individual circumstances. He responded to every one of my questions and tried to understand each situation to help the scholar-athletes stay engaged with the team. Without Dr. Lutz's unparalleled efforts, I'm convinced this school year would not have made it to completion."
