GRIDIRON CONNECTION
What is the Gridiron Connection?The Gridiron Connection (GICX) is an initiative of the Gridiron Club with the mission of providing Davidson football players with resources to make a significant contribution in life after Davidson with the vision of becoming a national model for building dynamic, connected leaders that are highly sought after by the business world.
What is going on this year?
The GICX presents an introduction to the players and hosts multiple events during the school year. Events include on-campus workshops, panel discussions, key note speakers and networking sessions. Along with the on-campus events, the GICX has an email inbox (davidsongridironconnection@gmail.com) that the players use to reach out with general questions and/or to be paired with a Davidson football alumni mentor.
How can I get involved?
There are many opportunities for you to get involved. As always, your continued support to the Davidson Gridiron Club is a fantastic way to ensure our Wildcats have the optimal environment to succeed. You can also help prepare the current players for success in life after Davidson by:
- Being a mentor. Register as an advisor in the Davidson Career Advisor Network (DCAN), Davidson’s platform for connecting students with alumni and parents for career consultations (career conversations, resume critiques, and mock interviews). You may wish to indicate on your profile that you are especially interested in connecting with Davidson student athletes.
- Sharing your experience. Assisting with on-campus events by:
- Attending a networking event
- Offering your expertise and/ or presenting on a specific area of professional development (e.g. interviewing, networking, personal development)
- Being active in the GICX community. The GICX has a LinkedIn page where events will be announced and internship/job opportunities may be shared. (http://www.linkedin.com/groups?home=&gid=4414982&trk=anet_ug_hm)
