Davidson College Dance Team
About
As a fixture at Davidson athletic events, the Davidson Dance Team displays their talent and school spirit through dance. Consisting of Davidson students from all types of dance backgrounds, the dance team is the premiere spirit squad at Davidson. With practices lasting two hours each for three times a week, these ladies are devoted and dedicated to their passion. Performing at home football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, both men’s and women’s Atlantic 10 Tournaments, and any postseason basketball tournament games, the dance team spends countless hours representing Davidson at sporting events.
The dance team also participates in Davidson’s Dance Ensemble, a student-run organization that presents a show at the end of every semester that combines both skill and technique. The show, which includes a combination of jazz, hip-hop, pom, and lyrical dance styles, allows the dance team to exhibit their creativity and talent to more than just spectators at sporting events.
The dance team is a prominent fixture in the community as well, as they partner with Davidson’s WeeWildcats program to involve aspiring young dancers and cheerleaders with Davidson. The WeeWildcat participants are able to perform with Davidson’s dance team at select football and basketball games, as the dance team is a positive influence and role model for young girls.

Tryouts
General Information:
Tryouts take place twice a year, during the first week of classes and at the end of the season. They are held in the Baker Dance Studio, located next to Belk Arena. On August 29th, we will host our next audition. If you are interested in trying out for the team, please email aiprice@davidson.edu for further details.
Preparation for the Tryout:
We are looking for enthusiam, energy, and a lot of confidence and school spirit. Hair should be pulled back and secure. Please carry water with you. Our team is known for it's wow factor, so make sure you bring yours.
