A Message from Coach Merritt
Dear Davidson supporters,September 2010 will welcome the Davidson College Wildcats team back to the gridiron for its 113th season! Davidson football is one of the longest standing traditions both at the college and in the town of Davidson. I would like to personally invite you to join the tradition and to join our Davidson football family this fall!
We’re always excited about our game day offerings, and this year we will be more focused on family fun than ever before. All of our home games this season will feature a designated tailgating area, along with a Kids Zone featuring inflatable games, face painting and lots of great activities for your family. We hope you’ll take advantage of the “Buy One, Get One Free” coupon included in your email and come out to our season opener at Richardson Stadium against the Georgetown Hoyas on Saturday, September 4 with kickoff at 6 p.m. This season, we also look forward to hosting conference games against Jacksonville, Butler, Dayton and San Diego and hope you’ll join us as we compete for a Pioneer Football League championship in the NCAA Division I-FCS subdivision!
I invite your family to become familiar with our program and get to know our coaches and players this season. We are proud of all of our players — a group of young men who excel in the classroom, compete tenaciously on the field, and represent our college and town superbly off the field. Davidson football is excited to participate in the annual “Meet the Wildcats” Fan Day on the Town Green on August 14, along with all other Davidson fall sports — men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball and field hockey. Our athletes would love the chance to meet you and your family, and we hope you come out for a fun family afternoon!
