Facilities > Charles W. Parker Wrestling Room

Located in the Baker Sports Complex, the Charles W. Parker Wrestling Room is one of the top wrestling-only practice facilities in the Southern Conference. It was opened in 1989, and has provided the Davidson Wrestling program with not only a practice facility, but one that is close to the lockers rooms and offices that make up the program.
Funding for the wrestling room was given by former Davidson wrestlers to honor Charles W. Parker, Class of 1938 and the Davidson wrestling coach for four decades.
Over the course of the 2017 summer, the Charles Parker wrestling room got a much-needed face-lift to showcase the proud tradition of 98 years of wrestling at Davidson College.
The room was wrapped with a photo collage of former Wildcat grapplers and updated branding brings the practice space even with the rest of Davidson's athletic facilities in appearance. Former Southern Conference Champions are listed with winning year and weight class and space left for future Wildcat champs.
"The recent upgrades to The Charles Parker Wrestling Room honor Davidson wrestling's great alumni, while providing new technology for our current student-athletes, and showcasing a proud brand and tradition to our recruits," said head coach Andy Lausier.
A 65-inch monitor was added and set up with a delay, allowing wrestlers the ability to review moves throughout practice, seconds after they happen.
