HIGH POINT, N.C. – Davidson's men's track & field team finished competition at the VertKlasse Meet hosted by High Point on Saturday. Jack Muldoon led the Wildcats with a second-place finish in the 800-meters.
Muldoon, a junior from Maryland, ran the 800 for the first time this outdoor season and nearly took home the top spot. He stopped the timer in 1:51.80 to finish slightly behind High Point's Graham Ferguson, who clocked a 1:51.59. Saturday's time will likely put Muldoon inside the top-10 on the A-10 Performance list.
Junior Jayden Smith also made his spring debut in the 110-meter hurdles and finished in fourth with a time of 13.93 seconds. He also clocked a 22.43 in the 200-meters.
Chinedu Okeke recorded the second-fastest time in Davidson history in the 100-meter dash when he sprinted across the line in 10.74 seconds. Okeke currently holds the record with a 10.70 at last year's A-10 Championships.
In Saturday's field action, Jack Stajos turned in a pair of top-ten finishes in the shot put and discus. Stajos took sixth in the shot put with a season-best throw of 15.49 meters before coming back later in the afternoon to take seventh in the discus with a mark of 50.25 meters.
