Wildcats Slide Past Billikens, 3-1

SAINT LOUIS -- Backed by a season-best .333 attacking percentage, the Davidson Wildcats defeated the Saint Louis Billikens swiftly in a 3-1 match on Friday night.
Four Wildcats swung .280 or better, as Isabel Decker led the way with 23 kills and just three errors on 41 swings (.488). Emma Slusser (10 kills, .318), Anna Withee (12 kills, .381) and Melanie Tilles (7 kills, .286) rounded out the attack, while Davidson shut down the Billikens with six total blocks.
Kinsey Smith (29 assists) and Xuan Nguyen (22 assists) had the offense firing on all cylinders from inside Chaifetz Pavilion, with the 'Cats hitting a monstrous .429 and .455 attack percentages in sets two and four, respectively.
After taking an early 2-0 match led, Davidson dropped set three 25-16 before flipping the script in the fourth with a 25-16 win of its own.
In the final frame, Meile Songaila's 11th kill of the match created a three-point advantage for the Wildcats at 9-6. From there, Decker and Slusser followed up with back-to-back kills that created enough separation for Davidson to ultimately run away with the 3-1 match victory.
