'Cats Stalled at VCU

RICHMOND, Va. – VCU volleyball produced 14 blocks and held Davidson to a .077 attacking percentage to defeat the Wildcats 3-0 Tuesday evening.
The Wildcats were unable to pick up a block inside the Siegel Center, as the Rams hit .278 and were led by an outstanding effort from their very own Jasmine Knight (16 kills, 8 blocks).
Despite the loss, the 'Cats pulled off a seven-point comeback during set one after trailing 19-13, and ultimately went ahead 21-20 late in the frame. Davidson earned set point, 24-22, after a kill from Elena Garcia-Guerrios, but VCU rallied and gutted out the 27-25 first set win.
In sets two and three, VCU jumped out to commanding leads to put both games out of reach. The Rams led 11-1 in set two and 16-4 in set three before the Wildcats could get their offense in motion.
Bella Brady picked up 24 digs, three assists and an ace, and Isabel Decker led the 'Cats with 11 kills.

Davidson will remain on the road, traveling to Rhode Island for a weekend series inside Keaney Gymnasium on Saturday, Oct. 7 and Sunday, Oct. 8.
