'Cats Creep Past Rams, 3-1

BRONX, N.Y. – The Davidson volleyball team closed out the weekend with a 3-1 win over the Fordham Rams on Sunday afternoon.
The victory moves both teams to 7-7 in Atlantic 10 league play, as the Wildcats and Rams are tied for fourth place with four games to go in the regular season.
Three 'Cats recorded 10+ kills in the second half of the weekend series, as Isabel Decker led the way with 16 kills, while Jackie Bardin and Emma Slusser recorded 13 and 11, respectively. Sola Omonije and Anna Withee each added nine strikes, while Omonije swung a match-best .529.
After losing set one, 25-18, the Wildcats bounced back to reverse sweep the Rams. Over the final three sets, Davidson swung .261 and produced 51 kills.
The 'Cats hit a game-high .325 in set four to beat Fordham 25-14 for the second straight set, while Omonije and Jessie Doyal led Davidson on an 11-6 run to put the match out of reach.
Decker, Doyal and Xuan Nguyen each notched double-doubles during the victory. Decker added 18 digs in addition to her 16 kills, while Doyal dished 21 assists and 13 digs and Nguyen earned 31 assists with 12 digs.
Bella Brady ended the match with 22 digs, bringing her career total to 1,818.

The Wildcats will return to Belk Arena for their final home weekend on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3 & 4 to take on Saint Louis. Davidson will celebrate its four graduating seniors prior to Saturday's match.
