Davis, Gaither Set School Records on Day Two of VertKlasse Meeting

HIGH POINT, N.C. - Davidson's Anna Davis and Cory Gaither set school records on the second day of the VertKlasse Meeting, hosted by High Point, on Saturday. Davis set a record in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.37 while Gaither's time of 14.06 in the 110m hurdles broke fellow teammate Jayden Smith's record set last week.
Kierra Marshall kicked the day off with her second place finish in the 200m, stopping the clock at 24.73. Also on the women's side, Sophia Hood and Maliyah Paynter took fourth and fifth place respectively in the 800m participation run. The 4x100 relay team registered a time of 47.51 placing them in fourth and Breila Fuller took fourth place in the 800m. In the field events, Hannah Kanjian's mark of 5.56m in the long jump placed her in seventh.
For the Davidson men in field events, John Curtin and Dylan Ameres took fifth and sixth in the triple jump while on the track, new personal bests abounded. In the 800m, Joe dos Reis and Owen Drometer not only finished in first and second place with their new personal best times of 1:49.73 and 1:50.42, and Noah Floyd's time of 1:55.83 in the second heat was a new PR for him as well.
