NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Davidson field hockey player Charlie Kabelac has been named to the Atlantic 10 Conference All-Academic Team, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.
It's the second A-10 postseason honor of Kabelac's career, after she was named to the All-Rookie Team in the spring 2021 season.
"Charlie embodies Davidson's motto of 'Athletics Done Right,'" said coach Zoe Almquist. "As a double major and our center midfielder who hardly substituted, she excelled in both the classroom and on the field. She's such a great leader and representative of the Davidson Wildcats, and we are so excited for her well-deserved recognition."
From Wiesbaden, Germany, Kabelac is listed as a junior on the Wildcats' roster, but she is graduating early after majoring in philosophy and political science.
This fall, she started all 19 games and led Davidson with seven goals and 19 points. Kabelac scored the only goal in the season-opening win over Georgetown Aug. 26 and assisted on goals in four straight games in October, including having a goal and assist against both VCU and Bellarmine. She scored two goals in the 4-1 win over Ball State Oct. 23.
Kabelac's selection marks the fourth straight season the Wildcats have had an All-Academic pick, following Izzy Moody (2021), Nellie Turnage (spring 2021) and Emily Roebuck (2019).
