
Field Hockey Falls at No. 17 Wake Forest

Sarah Grace Clifton scored off a penalty corner in the 35th minute to cut Wake Forest's two-goal halftime lead in half. Clifton inserted the corner to Caroline Wack, who then passed to Charlie Kabelac. Kabelac fired a shot at the cage, and Clifton tipped it in for her second goal of the season.
Anna Sharp and Hannah Merritt also had shots for the Wildcats.
Keeper Cato Roell and the Davidson defense faced 23 shots, including 13 shots-on-goal, and nine penalty corners. Roell made nine saves.
Wake Forest scored one goal in each quarter, off the stick of a different Demon Deacon each time, and a goal by Abby Carpenter helped Wake Forest get separation late in the third.

The Wildcats will play their next two games at home, beginning with a Friday night Atlantic 10 Conference contest against VCU.
