Men's Track & Field Tackle the Mondo College Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Three victories powered men's track and field at the Mondo College Invitational Sunday at JDL Fast Track.
Davidson freshman Owen Drometer snapped the tape in the mile, crossing the line in 4:25.45. Junior Jake Carver was fourth overall in 4:33.81. Fellow freshman Bryce Anthony won the 60-meter hurdles, leaning across the line in 8.25 seconds. Classmate Jordan Benson also placed top three with a 8.34 second outing.
Benson returned in the high jump with a second-place finish, clearing 1.83-meters (6'0), while Tompkins cleared 1.78m (5'10), good for third.
Davidson went 1-2 in the pole vault led by senior Stockton McGuire's clearing of 4.40-meters (14'5.25). Bryce cleared 4.25-meters (13'11.25) to take second.
Junior Miles Hollimon raced down the home stretch to a second-place result in the 60-meter dash, stopping the clock in 7.04 seconds and was the fastest collegiate sprinter to cross the line. Classmate Nick Peeples also made the finals, placing sixth with a 7.17 second performance.
Hollimon also placed second in the 200-meter dash, stopping the clock in 22.59 seconds, ahead of freshman Nick Tompkins (22.70) and Peeples (22.80).
Four 'Cats placed among the top seven in the 800-meters led by freshman Ben Gordon Sniffen in 1:56.98. Sophomore Jonah Lane, junior Iain Anderson and sophomore Raphael Oettl placed third, fourth and seventh, respectively.
Freshman Dylan Lageman placed second in the shot put, marking a throw of 13.80-meters (45'3.50). Sophomore Paul Mullinax took eighth with a throw of 12.26-meters (40'2.75).
Dylan Ameres marked a long jump attempt of 6.39-meters (20'11.75), good for sixth in the field.
The Wildcats wrapped up the day with a 3:34.73 performance in the 4x400-meter relay.
Davidson returns to the track Friday, Feb. 7 for the opening day of the Camel City Invitational at JDL Fast Track.
