RICHMOND, Va. — The Davidson volleyball team returned to action Saturday with a 3-0 loss at A-10 co-leader VCU. It's the Wildcats' only match of the weekend.
The Rams posted 25-20, 25-15 and 25-19 set victories, and the loss drops Davidson to 8-11 overall and 3-3 in league play.
Sophomore outside hitter Hattie Rodriguez led the Wildcats with 10 kills, while senior Emma McLaughlin added seven and junior Ellie Crosley five. Junior setter Sydney Champaigne had 21 assists and 10 digs.
Saturday's third set was the closest, featuring 10 ties, including at 16-16. But the Rams took over from there to remain unbeaten in league play (6-0) and keep track with Dayton (6-0 entering Saturday).

Davidson returns to the court with two road matches next weekend. The Wildcats visit La Salle at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25 and travel to Duquesne on Sunday.
