
Davidson Earns Academic Honors from NFHCA

NFCHA Academic Team Award | NFCHA Academic Squad
DAVIDSON, N.C. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFCHA) announced its top performers for the Division I National Academic Team Award and the Division I National Academic Squad. Davidson field hockey was recognized as a team, while six individual student-athletes earned spots on the academic squad.
The NFCHA Academic Team award recognizes those institutions that achieved a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall 2015 semester, while the NFCHA Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2015-16 academic year.
Senior Danielle King led the Wildcats as a four-year recipient of the National Academic Squad honor, while senior captains Anna Davis and Melissa Funsten were recognized for the first time in their careers.
Juniors Becca Jones and Lauren McFayden were tabbed to the National Academic Squad for the third time in their careers, while sophomore Morgan French received her second selection.
