Wildcats Open Spring Slate at Charlotte 49er Classic

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – In the season opener, the Davidson men's track and field team earned five top-15 finishes to highlight competition at the Charlotte 49er Classic, Friday.
Will Brewster took fourth in the 1,500-meter event. The junior clocked a 3:50.93. Walker Mogen wasn't far behind, finishing in ninth-place with a time of 3:54.65, while Ryan Phillips stopped the clock at 3:55.05 to place 11th.
Charles Rappe qualified for the 400-meter hurdles with a seventh-place finish in the preliminaries. The senior finished the race in 54.92 to earn a stop in the finals set for tomorrow at 3:15 p.m.
Rappe also races to a 28th place finish in the 110-meter hurdles preliminaries with a time of 15.56.
In the 200-meter event, sophomore Jacob Hostetler registered a time of 22.03 to earn a 17th-place finish.
In the high jump, Xzavier Killings earned a top-15 finish. Killings cleared 21'10.75" to take 11th overall. The senior also placed 44th overall in the 100-meter dash. Killings crossed the line in 11.31.
