
Davidson Adds Four For 2016 Season

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson field hockey head coach Ginny Turner has announced the addition of four freshmen for the 2016 season; Addie Clark, Kelly Hyman, Emily Roebuck and Sarah Zeszotarski. Two of the incoming freshmen hail from Maryland, while the remaining additions to the lineup come from Virginia and Pennsylvania.
The four newcomers will join a group of 17 returning players from last season, which saw the Wildcats post a 5-3 conference record and earn a fourth-seed in the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships.
"I am thrilled to have these four student athletes join us this coming fall," said Turner. "Although it is a smaller class, they are exactly who we need to continue our success. They each have a strong passion for the game, making a difference and their athleticism will push our returning players right away. I am excited to add their individual skills to our team and watch them fit seamlessly into our team culture. This class has proven they have the determination to rise to the academic and athletic challenges they will face at Davidson."

Addie Clark
Midfield | Vienna, Virginia | George C. Marshall

Clark, a Vienna, Va., native, joins the Wildcats after playing for George C. Marshall High School. In 2014 and 2015, Clark served as the captain. Clark played an instrumental role in helping her team clinch two straight Capitol Conference Championships. A 2014 and 2015 all-conference selection, Clark helped her team to two straight Capitol Conference Championships and an appearance in the state tournament for the first time in nearly a decade. In her final season, Clark was tabbed first team all-region and second team all state after helping her team to the regional semi-finals. Clark was the recipient of the 2015 Coaches' Award. Off the field, she is involved in National Honor Society, Best Buddies and the Octagon Club. Clark was also a member of DECA and FBLA.

"Addie is an all around solid player who knows the game well and could really see time in multiple positions on the field. She has great basic skills and can defend as well as she attacks. Addie has the ability to create opportunities with the ball anywhere on the field."
Kelly Hyman
Midfield/Defense | Annapolis, Maryland | Annapolis Senior High School

Kelly Hyman joins DCFH after a stellar career at Annapolis Senior High School in Annapolis, Maryland. Hyman was a three-year starter on the field hockey team at midfield, serving as team captain during her senior campaign. Hyman, a two-time All-Anne Arundel County team selection in 2014 and 2015, was tabbed the teams' MVP in her final season. In addition to her high school experience, Hyman played for the Jersey Elite Field Hockey Academy Team and helped her team take platinum at the U19 Disney Showcase. Hyman's club team also competed at Festival (2013-15) and NIT (2014-16). Hyman also played tennis. Off the field, Hyman is involved is a member of the National Honor Society, student government and the Principal's Leadership Council. Hyman serves as the Vice President of the Key Club and is a partner on the Unified Bowling Team, which assists special needs athletes.

"Kelly is a very poised and passionate player. She is a true team player who works hard for those around her. Kelly has excellent fundamentals and a strong understanding of the game. Her control and consistency on the ball will be a great addition to our midfield and defense."
Emily Roebuck
Midfield/Forward | Lutherville, Maryland | Roland Park Country School

Emily Roebuck was a four-year starter for the Roland Park field hockey team at midfield, serving as team captain during her senior season. After earning IAAM first team all-conference honors in 2013, 2014 and 2015, Roebuck was tabbed second team all state as a senior. On the club circuit, Roebuck won the National Futures Championship and the NIT Pool Championship in 2014 and took home top honors at the Disney Showcase in 2014 and 2015. Roebuck was also a member of the varsity track team for three seasons, earning the Excellence in Track Award. Off the field, Roebuck is a member of the National French Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta National Math Honor Society and student government. She was tabbed an AP Scholar with Honor and was the recipient of the University of Virginia Jefferson Book Award. Roebuck volunteers her time with Maryland Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, FOCUS and serves as a Peer Health Educator.

"Emily is a quick player with great skills. She is very athletic and strong on the ball. Her ability to find the cage or another player will make her a great addition to our midfield and forward lines."
Sarah Zeszotarski
Goalkeeper | Chalfont, Pennsylvania | Central Bucks South

Sarah Zeszotarski comes to Davidson after a four-year career at Central Bucks South, where she helped her team to three consecutive conference championships from 2012-14. Zeszotarski won the district championship in 2012 before earning second place during the 2013 season. In 2014, Zeszotarski helped her team to the state semifinals. The goalkeeper earned honorable mention all-conference accolades. As a senior, Zeszotarski served as a team captain and earned a spot on the all-conference second team and the all-academic team. Zeszotarski's club team won the NIT Pool B Championship and a Festival Pool B Championship.

"Sarah is strong GK who has huge presence in the cage. She is a smart player who reads the game well. Her strong voice and great fundamentals which will help her transition to the Collegiate game quickly. As she gets comfortable working and talking with our defense I think she will make a huge impact in our backfield."
