
Strong Showing For Wildcats at Camel City Classic

Day 1 Results
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Davidson track and field team had a strong showing on the first day of the Camel City Classic at the JDL Fast Track.
The women's team showcased its depth in the lengthy 3,000-meter event. Caroline Yarbrough earned a seventh place finish overall. The rookie clocked a 9:59.15. Sarah Sears was the next Wildcat to cross, registering a time of 10:26.19 to take 16th place overall. Hayden Bates (10:43.19) and Abby Fry (11:21.91) both finished 10th in the second and third section of the event.
Caroline Turner took second in the lengthy 5,000 meter run. Turner clocked an 18:40.58, just 1.02 seconds out of first place. Anna Buser crossed the line in 10th place. Buser stopped the clock at 19:57.66.
Led by Hannah Rieden, the Wildcats earned two top-15 finishes. Rieden covered the distance in 2:16.23 to take eighth, while Brigid Behrens wasn't far behind, clocking a 2:17.03 to rank 10th overall. Ashlyn Gruber finished the half mile in 2:20.09 to take 22nd.
In the 400, Tori Long posted a time of 59.77 to take 28th overall, while Hannah Rieden (1:00.84) and Brigid Behrens (1:00.87) finished 40th and 41st, respectively.
Megan Comstock cleared 10-6 to earn a 14th place finish in the pole vault.
On the men's side, Jacob Hostetler earned a ninth place finish in the 400-meter event. The sophomore crossed the line in 50.30.
Ian Robertson clocked a 4:20.66 in the one mile to rank 10th overall, while Ramsay Ritchie wasn't far behind with a time of 4:25.17 to take 16th.
Ben Francis clocked a 1:59.98 in the 800 meter event to take 32nd overall, while Amir Pappu turned in a time of 2:02.02.
In the qualifying round of the 60-meter hurdles, Charles Rappe registered a time of 8.72, while Sean Caveney clocked an 8.81 and Jordan Marshall finished in 8.99.
In the long jump, Xzavier Killings jumped 21-11.75 (6.70m) to earn a 15th place finish.
Davidson returns to action tomorrow for the final day of the event.
