
Men's Cross Country & Track & Field Announces Class of 2019

DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Men's Cross Country and Track and Field Program has announced their incoming class for the 2015-2016 season, featuring outstanding athletes across event areas.
"This year's incoming class will lay a foundation for years to come as we begin a new era of Davidson Track and Field. Our goal is to compete for championships in all three seasons, and bringing in these young men to the Davidson community is a huge step in the right direction." said Coach Waldron, who started at Davidson last July.
While there are nine additions to the program, leading the charge for the class is Brady Logan, a thrower from Virginia, Sean Caveney, a hurdler from Massachusetts, and transfer student Will Brewster, a distance runner hailing from Illinois.
"Brady, Sean and Will will make an immediate impact in the Atlantic 10, said Coach Waldron. "All of our incoming athletes are exception studentswho have displayed excellent leadership skills throughout their high school careers. We look forward to having them join our program and complimenting the returning group of student-athletes who are eager to start the season."
Brady Logan (Woodberry Forest, Virginia)-- Logan is an accomplished shot putter who will make an immediate impact on the A-10. Logan has Woodberry's indoor and outdoor school record in the shot put and placed 2nd in the VISAA meet in the shot put in his junior and senior years. He also placed 2nd in the discus his senior year. In his senior season he threw a lifetime best of 60'-8.5 in the shot put.
Sean Caveney (Andover HS, MA) – Caveney is the Massachusetts All-State Champion in the 400 hurdles, and finished third in the 110 meter hurdles. He placed fifth in the New England Champions indoors in the 60m Hurdles, and was runner-up in the outdoor season in the 400 hurdles. His personal bests in the 110 hurdles are 14.41 and 54.33 in the 400 hurdles.
Will Brewster (Grayslake Central HS, IL / University of Illinois)- Brewster comes to Davidson with two years of eligibility left in all three seasons. A 9:04 2 miler in High School, Brewster ran 8:11 in the 3k as a freshman for the University of Illinois. He will make an immediate impact for the Wildcats during the 2015-2016 season and will compete for A-10 individual honors in both cross country and on the track.
Gram Davis (Gilmore School, Maryland)—Davis is the MIAA/ IAAM champion in the pole vaults. He broke his high school's record at the school's championship meet jumping 14'-3". Davis has the potential to make an immediate impact in the pole vault in the Atlantic 10.
Jalin Jackson (St. Joseph's Prep, PA)- Jackson is a very versatile athlete that will have an immediate effect on the sprint/hurdle group. He will be able to help in many sprint/hurdle/relay events in both the indoor and outdoor season. Has a lifetime best of 39.90 in the 300 meter hurdles.
Cole Reynolds (Independence HS, NC) - Reynolds is a local recruit from the Charlotte area, and will be a great addition to the 400m group. He has a career best of 50.56 in the 400 meters. Reynolds played football throughout high school. He contribute in multiple events in the sprints and relays both indoor and outdoor.
Tommy May (Bishop Moore HS, FL) –Though he has not been running track for very long due to football being his main sport, May has seen drastic decreases in his times on the track. He brings depth to the sprint relay group and will be able to contribute in multiple events and relays.
Dylan Carmack (McCallie School, TN)- Carmack was the Tennessee II-AA champion in cross country his senior year. He will add to the depth of the distance squad and will focus on the 5,000 and 10,000 meters in college. Carmack has a career best of 9:29 in the 3,200.
William Jones (St. Johnsbury, VT)- Jones placed 10th the Vermont State Cross Country Championships. He will focus on the 5,000 and 10,000 for the Wildcats.
