
Smith Named PFL Special Teams Player of the Week

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Sophomore Trevor Smith of the Davidson football team has been named PFL Co-Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced Sunday.
Smith connected on a career-long 47-yard field goal that lifted the Wildcats to their first Pioneer Football League win in three seasons, a 20-17 victory at Stetson in their 2015 season finale Saturday.
Davidson finished the season 2-9 and 1-7 in the PFL, marking the first season since 2012 that the 'Cats recorded multiple victories.
This is the first Pioneer Football League Special Teams Player of the Week award for Davidson since Garrett Diehl was awarded on Nov. 10, 2013.

The Tampa, Fla., native also connected on a 36-yard field goal in the second quarter as Davidson built a 10-0 halftime lead. Smith finished the game with eight points (2-2 PATs) and also managed kick-off duties for the Wildcats.
