2015 Atlantic 10 Bracket
DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson field hockey team was awarded the fourth seed in the 2015 Atlantic 10 Tournament, which will take place Nov. 6-7 at Ryan Ellen Field on the campus of Saint Joseph's.
The Wildcats (8-10), making their first-ever appearance in the conference championship, finished their second season in the A-10 with a 5-3 conference mark.
Reigning conference champion, Richmond used its 7-1 A-10 regular season record to claim the top-seed in the championship. Richmond will be gunning for its ninth A-10 Championship. The Minutewomen (11) and the Spiders have combined to win every A-10 Championship since 1996.
Davidson, Massachusetts and Saint Joseph's finished in a three-way tie for second place with a 5-3 conference mark. By virtue of the league's three-way tie-breaker procedure, Massachusetts (9-8) claimed the second seed thanks to its win over the Wildcats and Hawks earlier this season.
Saint Joseph's garnered the third seed by knocking off Saint Francis 3-2 on Saturday. The Hawks took the head-to-head battle with the Wildcats, after earning a 2-1 victory in Philadelphia, Oct. 24.
No. 2 Massachusetts will play No. 3 Saint Joseph's Friday at 11 a.m. Davidson and Richmond will meet in the second game at 2 p.m.
The two winners from Friday's games will meet on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the finals, with the winner earning the A-10's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Tournament.
All three games can be seen live on the A-10 Network on Atlantic10.com.
