Funsten Selected to Play in NFHCA Division I Senior Game

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Senior captain Melissa Funsten of the Davidson field hockey team has been selected to play in the 2015 Victory Sports Tours/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division Senior Game, as recently announced.
Funsten is one of 38 seniors selected to participate. The game is set for Saturday, Nov. 21 at the University of Michigan at 2:30 p.m.
Funsten, a four-year standout for the Wildcats, has been a constant force in the offensive third this season. She has started all 17 games, notching six goals and three assists for 15 points, second among team leaders.
The Raleigh, N.C., native found the back of the net in four of Davidson's first five games. Defensively, Funsten has registered a team-high three defensive saves.
Davidson will conclude the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 31 with a critical Atlantic 10 battle against Massachusetts at Belk Turf Field. The Wildcats will honor Funsten and the rest of the senior class prior to the start of the game.
