Federico Named Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Junior midfielder Anne Federico has been named Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday.

The Towson, Md., native scored the game-winning goal less than three minutes into the first overtime session as Davidson earned a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Atlantic 10 rival Richmond, Oct. 16 at Belk Turf Field.

In the 72nd minute, Davidson earned a penalty corner. Federico redirected a shot from the top of the circle past Richmond's Emily Braunewell for the win. It's Federico's second game-winning goal of the year. The win moved Davidson to 8-7 overall and 5-1 in the conference, putting the Wildcats into first place in the Atlantic 10.

Federico shares the honors with La Salle's Kendall Kreider

Federico and the Wildcats return to action Saturday, Oct. 24 at Saint Joesph's for a noon tilt.
