Field Hockey Announced Spring Contests

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson field hockey team will compete in four spring contests, including a pair of tilts at home and an alumnae day, head coach Ginny Turner announced Monday.
"This will be an excellent spring for us. We are already making great progress on the turf after only a short time," said Turner. "The teams we will face this spring will be great opportunities for us to learn and expand our game. It will provide a lot of playing time for everyone and give us valuable experience playing together on the field before next fall. "
The Wildcats will hit the road for the first two games of the season, kicking things off on March 19 with a scrimmage against perennial contenders Wake Forest at 6:30 p.m. in Winston-Salem. Davidson will then head to Lynchburg, Va., on March 29 to face off with former NorPac foes Appalachian State and host Liberty, as well as American University in a play day.
All former players are invited to the squad's annual Alumnae Game on April 5 at Belk Turf Field. The 'Cats will be hosting a play day that afternoon as well. The spring slate will wrap up April 10 when they welcome local squad Charlotte Adult Club to Davidson for a 6:30 p.m. scrimmage.
