Field Hockey Honored by NFHCA

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Davidson field hockey team's 2012 squad was recently honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association as 2012 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award honoree, announced by the organization earlier this week.
In addition, Brit Donaldson, Annie Evans, Sarah Fisher, Carolyn Macek and Tyler McFayden were named to the Division I National Academic Squad.
The NFHCA honors programs that boast a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher with the National Academic Team Award. In 2012, 70 teams were honored for achieving the feat and were headlined by Central Michigan's 3.61 team GPA. Fellow NorPac members UC Davis, Appalachian State, Liberty, Radford, Stanford and Pacific joined the 'Cats in receiving honors.
Players with a GPA of 3.3 or higher through the fall semester are also honored as members of the National Academic Squad. The 2012 season marks the third time both Donaldson and Evans have earned the acknowledgement, and is the second honor for McFayden and Macek.
