
McFayden Honored by Northwestern Mutual

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Earlier this semester, senior field hockey player Tyler McFayden was honored in the Northwestern Mutual Student-Athlete Spotlight campaign as part of Northwestern Mutual of North Charlotte's partnership with Davidson College athletics. McFayden was honored on the field at a Wildcat football game.

On the field, McFadden finished her career with 10 goals and 11 assists for a total of 31 points. A former NorPac East Player of the Week, she tallied five game-winners for the Wildcats and assisted on the lone goal of a crucial 1-0 win over Radford this season. A native of Charlotte, she was a valuable contributor to the Wildcats for four straight seasons.

McFayden boasts a 3.56 GPA as a psychology major with a minor in education to earn National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Academic designation. She is a member of Connor House, a tutor at the Writing Center, an intern for the Autism Society of the Carolinas and a research assistant for the Davidson College Aging lab. Â McFayden plans to pursue a Ph.D. in clinical child psychology with a research emphasis on earlier intervention for infants and toddlers with autism.
