Pidcock Earns NorPac Rookie Honors

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson field hockey freshman forward Lucy Pidcock has been honored by the NorPac Field Hockey Conference, being named the NorPac East Rookie of the Week for her play this past weekend.
Pidcock was a major contributor in the team's 5-3 league win over Appalachian State on Sunday, scoring three goals. The Allentown, Pa., native notched her first career goal 16 minutes into the first half of the contest. She later added two more for the hat trick.
Finley Amato recorded a hat trick earlier this season in a 4-1 win over Ball State, making Pidcock the second player to do so. She is also the first Wildcat freshman to tally a trio of goals in a game since 2007 when Courtney Tobe accomplished the feat vs. Catawba.
This week marks the second time the 'Cats have earned NorPac Rookie of the Week honors. Fellow freshman Melissa Funsten earned the accolade on Sept. 3.
Davidson will host No. 1 North Carolina on Tuesday in a 5 p.m. contest at Belk Turf Field.
