Davidson Assists Boys & Girls Club

DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson women's basketball team took some time out of their busy class schedule to take part in a Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Charlotte event on Thursday evening.
The Wildcats helped serve during a Steak & Burger Dinner at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. It was the 21st Annual Boys & Girls Club Steak and Burger Dinner as the community came out for a dinner and a chance to see the race track.
Boys & Girls Clubs of America had its beginnings in 1860 with several women in Hartford, Connecticut. Believing that boys who roamed the streets should have a positive alternative, they organized the first Club. A movement was born. 2006 marked the Centennial year of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, as we celebrated 100 years of providing hope and opportunity to young people across the country.
The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Charlotte now operates 8 clubs in and around the Charlotte area are proud to operate more clubs than any Salvation Army office in the world!
